• It’s highly shared on social media (e.g. 1000 shares on Facebook)
• It performed well via email (as shown by click-through rates or inquiries)
• It ranks pretty well for a desired keyword but could rank higher

And how do I, the SEO Specialist, improve your articles?  By adding or subtracting the following elements:

Add:

• Updated images
• New examples
• Smoother introduction
• Clear process
• New information
• Easier to read formatting by adding:
  • Subheadlines
  • Block quotes
  • Numbered lists

Another great way to improve your articles is to Optimize for Featured Snippets.  These are located on page 1 of many Google search result pages (SERPs).  Here’s an example of a featured snippet:
